You have beaten games where the boss killed you twenty times before you learned its timings. Well: once a month, a boss spawns in your home that no YouTube guide covers. Its name is PMS, the respawn timer runs strictly on the calendar, and the core mechanic is that you cannot beat it at all. You can only get through it. Ideally without wiping the whole family.

Meet the boss with a fixed respawn timer

Most bosses have weak points. This one only has a schedule. Five to seven days before the period, progesterone — which had been climbing all month — crashes, and estrogen sits at the bottom too. Translated from hormonal: serotonin, the chemistry of a stable mood, takes a fat debuff, while the amygdala (the built-in threat detector) gets a sensitivity buff. The filter between “stimulus” and “emotion” becomes paper-thin.

Get one thing straight from the start: the boss does not attack only you. It hits her first and hardest — she lives inside the debuff. You are just standing nearby.

Its move set

Mood crit. A trifle that would have gone unnoticed a week ago now lands a critical hit. You put the mug in the wrong place — half the relationship bar is gone.

Irritation aura, AoE. Area damage covers everything: the sound of your chewing, your breathing, the sheer fact of you existing in space. Do not take it personally — the aura hits everything alive.

Sudden tears. Triggered by a dog commercial, an old song, or “no reason.” There is no counterspell. You just need to be there.

Scroll of grievances. Rare but heavy: a list unrolls where “you slammed the door” sits next to something from three weeks ago. That is not a real quest log. It is loot the debuff scavenged from every corner of memory.

Tactics that fade the screen to black

Saying “calm down.” Mission failed, instantly. “Calm down” has never once in human history calmed anyone down, and in this phase it works like a red flag with a megaphone attached.

Asking “is this PMS?” Congratulations — you just pulled aggro off the circumstances and onto yourself. Even if you are right. Especially if you are right. Dismissing a person through hormones is a banned move, and real life bans you for it too.

DPS-ing with logic. “Come on, objectively nothing happened” — in this phase the boss is immune to logic damage. You are just burning mana.

Going stealth. Staying at work till eleven, hiding in your phone, escaping to your friends. Feels like a smart play, but it stacks a debuff on her called “I feel awful and he does not care.” You will spend longer cleaning that up than you spent hiding.

The build that works: support tank

You do not need to win. You need to tank a few days. The meta:

  • Silence. Not sulking in the other room — a calm “fewer questions, fewer comments.” Especially comments about her mood.
  • Food. Consumables carry the run. Chocolate, a proper dinner, delivery of her favorite — without asking “so what do you want?”, a question that has no answer right now.
  • Blanket, heating pad, quiet evening. Set up a warm camp for her and do not disturb it.
  • One line. “I’m here if you need anything.” That is it. No “let’s talk,” no interrogation. Say it and step back to a safe distance.

Note: these are not tricks. This is ordinary care. It just carries a triple multiplier in this phase.

The patch note nobody reads

The boss is the state, not her. You are not fighting her — the two of you are running the same debuff, she from the inside, you from the outside. This is co-op, not PvP. Every time you want to answer sharpness with sharpness, remember: pulling aggro on a person under a debuff means joining the boss’s side.

And one serious footnote, no jokes. If these days knock her out of life completely every month — pain that keeps her in bed, a state that looks like depression — that is no longer “just the boss.” That is a reason to see a doctor. It exists, it is called PMDD, and it is treatable — but diagnoses are a doctor’s job, not an article’s.

Timing guide

Open the app, check the cycle day:

  • Days 1–14. No bosses on the map. Normal life — farm the relationship.
  • Days 15–22. The music is still calm, but save the game: stock up on consumables, close out the small household quests so nothing is hanging by raid time.
  • Days 23–28. Raid. Support-tank build: silence, food, blanket, one line. No “calm down,” no logic, no stealth.

In a few days the boss despawns on its own — that is how the mechanic is designed. What stays in the logs is what matters: you were there, you did not pull aggro, you kept her fed. With that track record, the next respawn is nothing to fear. You cannot beat it. You can get through it together — and every month the run gets cleaner.
